Welcome to the new home of the 1st Shelton Lock Scout and Guide Group. Working together for over 50 years, this new location will help to take the group into an exciting future.
Although each Section and Unit follow the programmes of their own parent organisation, they share equipment, special events and headquarters, to ensure that the Young People of Shelton Lock and the surrounding area can continue to enjoy Scouting and Guiding.

The Scout movement in the UK has been a cornerstone of youth development for over a century, providing a wide range of activities that foster teamwork, leadership, and resilience. With over 500,000 members across the country, Scouts take part in everything from outdoor adventures like camping and hiking to skills-based programs in science, technology, and social action. The guide association has a similar ethos as scouting to; encourage resilience, face challenges and gain self belief and confidence.
Through these experiences, Scouts are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, build lasting friendships, and develop a sense of responsibility towards their communities and the environment. The Scouts aim to prepare young people for life by promoting the values of trust, respect, and kindness.
