The Girlguiding grounds of Glenbrook nestled between Edale and Hathersage are the perfect location for a brownie pack holiday. We prefer to stay in Derwent which is the newer of the buildings and meets our needs better.

This year our theme was “All the fun of the fair” which we picked to tie in with various stalls and fund raising games being laid on at Glenbrook along with their 12 hour camp fire singathon.   We opted to dip in and out of the singing but learnt several new songs including “Joe” sung in a broad Yorkshire accent !

During the weekend the brownies learnt resilience and overcame challenges to complete the assault course and move around the traverse wall without putting a foot down, their map reading skills and teamwork were put to the test during the orienteering activity.

Pack holidays are a fantastic time for the girls to come out of their shell, make new friends and try new skills. This recent weekend was no exception as we had some of the youngest, quietest girls singing a karaoke solo to the greatest showman – they blew us away … Well done girls!
