Hello Everyone
I am pleased to announce our project to build a new facility that will include the 1st Shelton Lock Scout and Guide Group Head Quarters is launched today.
Here is short summary of what we are trying to achieve plus a bit of back ground information.
We have completed the following:
- A signed land lease between the Scouting Association and Derby City Council. (in Shelton Lock Derby).
- A building contract with an East Midlands building developer
3.Full planning permission for a single storey building (the building designed environmental and sustainability in mind)
- Funding from the National Youth Investment fund for the building costs
What is happening now
- Building contractor will start in the next couple of weeks, and it is anticipated build time will be 10 months.
- We are planning to communicate with any interested parties who would like use this facility Ie Derby Youth Alliance
- Let the local community know about this project
In the future
Official opening (not yet planned)
I hope this email gives an understanding of what we are trying to achieve.
We want all our local young people to feel valued and provide a high quality facility for them to use.
